Gemma by Zoya

Does anyone remember the great Zoya nail polish promotion? You know the one where you received any two polishes of your choice for the price of shipping? Well I almost didn’t until my package finally came in the mail… I ordered mine on the 6th of January and it is now the 7th of February and they are finally here and I have gotten around to trying them out. Many other blogs I read got theirs within 2 weeks after ordering, mine took nearly twice as long. It might have just been due to the promotion, I am not really sure.

First up is Gemma it is described as: a light muted olive-green with an overlay of blue and violet duochrome shimmer. Unique, hip and cutting-edge yet subtle enough to suit any wardrobe. I picked this mostly because of the light shimmer in the bottle, the name, and the fact that I am lacking greens in my collection.

As my first Zoya polish I am honestly not blown away by their formula, maybe it is just particular polish but it went on very thin, took forever to dry, and peeled off within 12 hours. Seeing as how I had to apply 4 coats just to make sure I didn’t have any streaky lines. I am surprised that it even dried completely. I will say that I loved the color and the duochrome shimmer is beautiful in certain lighting.

Personally I love the color, but the flaws with the formula and wearability outweigh the originality of the color. My second Zoya polish Charla is up next.
